No, being gay has nothing to do with origami. If you're male and you don't have sex with males, or want to, you're not gay.

I assume your boss (and you, I guess) really mean "is it unmasculine?"

I wish people didn't conflate homosexuality with breaking gender stereotypes (in regards to anything other than who you have sex with). There are masculine gay guys and feminine lesbians, and feminine straight guys and masculine straight girls.
