I haven't watched 2 yet, but...

Was her dislike for the new girl because she was female or because she was new? Because in the first season, didn't Eleven have insecurities about herself fitting in as a new member of the group? When you're the newest friend and an even newer person comes along, I think it's normal to worry about being replaced by them.

Or maybe it's just me cause I'm a jealous bitch. *shrug*

A little of both? She was jealous of Max and Mike in a way that probably wouldn't have been the case if Max had been a Maxwell instead of a Maxine, but it was definitely more of a fear of being replaced thing than a "now I'm falling asleep and she's calling a cab" thing.

I agree it's normal to feel envious about being replaced. Since Eleven had been away for a year and then as soon as she found her (boy)friend, he was with this other girl (alone) in the gym hall who was skating circles around him, and so Eleven got upset and lashed out by knocking this random new girl off her skateboard lol.

I'd say its justifyable considering she is 12/13 and is insecure/doesnt feel wanted/has issues socialising compared to the normal cliche of "two socialites just jealous over a guy" for drama -- and then the fact she was confined to this shack where she just watched TV all day so the only exposure to that kinda thing happening would be something cliche like that, but I'm not sure if the creators were thinking that far lol.

Im assuming s3 will 'heal' the cliche like they did with Steve not being the stereotypical jock/jerk type character as he cleaned up his act and made the effort to better himself in the story, since Eleven and Max working together would be the shit. \O/ \O/ \O/
