Because they are preachy about it. They want to ruin a popular series other enjoy or make them feel bad about it. It's not their choice to make. If others have a problem they can drop it of their no accord, not be shamed into it by random slacktivist on the internet.

So - I'm genuinely trying to understand your views here - your problem isn't with the critique they're making, but with the part where they say "and therefore people shouldn't like it"?

DA

That's the part that would make me slam that block button, yes.

I guess. It just seems like the second bit is kind of implicit in the first bit.

Yeah, to be fair, I'd probably block them all because I don't like moralizing in general, and frankly they just sound like they're reveling in their victimhood as a sort of social exhibitionism.

It's a consistent position, at least

Except in this particular case, I feel that is something I would want to know? I watch shows that are problematic and that's fine. But I wouldn't want to support a creator like this if what those people are saying is true.

For me, there is a difference in lecturing about problematic aspects in works vs problematic things about the creator. People can see what is in a work and decide if it is something they want to support. But it is something else to give information about problematic things behind the scenes, as not everyone is privy to that information and it might make a difference to them.
