The same one I have every year: get good at drawing.

My advice, ignore any advice that goes " Practice sweaty :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) "

Instead look for tutorials or a teacher to help you identify your strengths and weaknesses and how to work with them. Good teachers will be frank with you about your natural talents and how to work with them to get the results you want.

I don't take classes at the moment, but I do seek out tutorials and books and try to focus on just a few subjecst for max gains. The reason it's a goal every year is because I want to get to a professional level, not because I haven't improved much from previous years.

Thanks though, a lot of art advice out there is short sighted and can be especially suspect if it's coming from hobbyists like fanartists. Right now I'm focusing on my draftsmenship and finding better shorthand for constructing the human form.

Thank you for not taking it as judgey.

I have a lot of artist friends on various social media platforms, and for some reason the "Don't take classes, don't read tutorials, don't listen to (anyone else's) advice, JUST PRACTICE!!! :) :) :) " has been especially bad the past few weeks.

Yeah, I’ve seen some of it too as I follow a lot of artists. Think it started out because some pros have said don’t go to art school because the loans aren’t worth it and there’s much cheaper alternatives but feels like the original point’s been distorted bad.

Eat more vegetables, write more, and go back to school.

Not worry so much. I feel like I've been better about it lately than I used to be, but I definitely could be much better.

Read more books, especially non-fiction and also fiction that's not part of a series or is by an author I've never read before.

Same! I read way more books this year than I have in like 10 years, but still not as many as I'd like.

Stick with keto! Finish editing a book so I can start looking for an agent.

Be happy.

1. Become either a vampire or a cyborg. Or possibly some other entity that doesn't have to deal with arthritis and other chronic pain disorders...
2. Find and marry a sugar mama with incredibly low standards.
3. Find a way to make my horse immortal.
4. Write at least one more chapter of my Pokemon/Voyager crossover.
5. Finish my short story about alien bees.

Pet More Dogs

The same resolution I’ve had for two years now. It’s the best resolution.

Write more, sew more. Get some of my cosplays off the WIP list. At least start one of my dream cosplays.
