Fan casting
Re: Fan casting
(Anonymous) 2017-12-30 02:15 am (UTC)(link)It happens less often with TV/movies, but there have definitely been times where I've thought it would've been better if a character/characters were played by a different actor that's a similar "type" that I like more. Of when an actor is playing really similar roles in two different things, and their love interests are of course played by different people, I can't help seeing the characters as the same and wishing one of the love interests was replaced by the other (whichever actor I like better).
Podcasts are the really weird thing. Like, I know the hosts are actual people, but I always end up mentally casting them as actors who I think fit the voice.

The exception, of course, is Richard Armitage as Hades. Cliche I know, but it works! c:
Re: Fan casting
Also, I agree. I have a hard time because either an actor's face fits or his voice fits but not both. That's why I usually either facecast or cast an animated version. Like, I would want Mark Hamill to voice Glaurung and Jeremy Irons to voice Melkor. They don't look the parts, but their voices are what I imagine.
Re: Fan casting
I think Lauren Cohan would be an amazing Eve Dallas. I still can’t think of anyone for Roarke. (In Death series by JD Robb)
