Re: How do you feel about fanart changing canon physical characteristics of a character?

I generally enjoy everything-bending art, but it puts my back up when people act like the bent art is somehow canon and throw fits when people point out it isn't actually canon, or when they're clearly doing it for social justice points. Typically this can be determined by their tags or commentary, not the art itself. I saw a racebent art the other day which was tagged "black [character] is only [character]" about a character who...is white in canon.
