When stories act like being single is the worst thing in the world. Especially also when "single" narratives end with the character coupled I'll with someone anyway. Also when singularity is defaulted to sleeping around a lot -- not that that's wrong, it just still involves another person in at least a pseudo-romantic configuration. There just aren't enough characters that are just cool with being single and not engaged in any form of romance.

Bah, maybe I'm just a single chick bitter at all the questions about when I'll find someone or I just need to find the right one. But media reinforcing these views don't help. There was some articles I read off Facebook that was about a character in a show I can't recall the title of being "super single." I was hoping it meant someone happy with their singularity, but instead it was about someone who was so used to being single and quitting relationships all the time because she was so used to being single that she was self-sabotaging her romantic prospects. Annoying.
