I live in North Carolina and in the eastern parts of it, it's always been like that. When I was in middle school we got a whopping 2 feet and school was out for two weeks!

When it started snowing during class it was a sign school was about to let out early.

My youngest sister is living with my folks in the midwest now and she says she has to go to school on snow days. Still sorta weird for me to imagine.
