I've always found the Christmas specials kind of so-so. They feel like vaguely pleasant filler to watch on a holiday evening after you've done all the holiday stuff, and not a time for character development or serious drama. I think people only get cranky about them when they are regeneration episodes, and maybe it's unfortunate that the show tries to mix the passing of the torch from one Doctor to the next with a story that has to be, to some extent, fluff.

Oh man, the ending was fantastic. Though, I am a bit sad that what happened to Eiffel is the same thing that happened to one of my favorite characters ever. Though, his outcome seems more favorable. Also, I think one of the characters who lived totally should have died.

Never read this, but I love (ironically? unironically? don't even know) the fantasy of working at a cute little bakery, and affording a nice one-bedroom. Shit, irl I have a manager-level salaried position and I still can hardly afford my shitty ass studio.

Still, the fantasy is nice, I guess. Also bakery/coffee shop fantasies in general because customer service actually sucks.

I also miss this. When I had my OTP in a big fandom, I was so nuts. I was always writing erotica. I'd write sex scenes first and add the plot second.

Now I'm trying to insert sex scenes into my original novel, and find it boring and can't find the inspiration. I don't even know what's sexy anymore - when I read fic (original or fanfic) with sex scenes, I tend to skip over those bits. Maybe I read too many sex scenes and lost interest?
