It makes sense to me, sometimes I can ignore something off-putting in a piece of older work because things really were different back then, but there's also levels of bigotry that's hard for me to stomach.

And it also depends on if the thing was actually trying in some aspect, just by today's standards they would obviously come across as lacking.
