Also, and I tried to look up a more detailed explanation but I could only find the 7-mile version.... I built this once and it was AWESOME. If you build a 1-mile long model of the solar system, meaning that you start with the sun, and pluto is a fucking mile away, Jupiter is smaller than a baseball iirc (at least that's what I used). Earth and the other inner planets are the size of peppercorns.
You hit all the planets up to Jupiter in the first quarter of the solar system, and then the distances get really, really long. Like, so long. Just progressively longer. Uranus is only about halfway out. You hit Neptune before the last quarter. Pluto is smaller than the head of a pin, and more than a quarter of a mile beyond Neptune. At that distance the sun is just another star in the sky.
