Re: Star Wars

I saw it unspoiled, which was easy since I'm not in the fandom, but I had to wait over a week after the premiere, so I was well aware of how it was apparently "divisive" and some people were being all "ruined my childhood! etc." It was making me wonder if a certain character dies - they do, although not in a way I'd expected (not that I had any particular ideas in mind).

I don't think my unspoiled status mattered all that much, because I was mostly meh about it. Nothing in the plot made me angry or disappointed, but I thought it was too long and dragged in a number of spots. It also felt like it had more endings than Return of the King - they kept coming to a good spot to end on a semi-cliffhanger like in Empire, but then the movie keeps going. At one point I thought the movie was about to end, and then I realized there was a whole bunch of stuff from the trailer we still hadn't seen yet. Dammit.
