It's because most of the male celeb heartthrobs tweens and teenagers fall for are hairless threatening young things. See Justin Bieber, NSYNC era Timberlake, Leif Garrett and David Cassidy as examples. Or think of the slash pairings younger people like. Do you think they're imagining Tom Selleck or Burt Reynolds type guys or the twinkiest men possible...

I don't know that there's necessarily a correlation though.

There's a slash ship that I would love because the dynamic is exactly what I like, but the idea of them together grosses me out because they're both hairy, and I'm definitely an adult.

Now, maybe that's considered immature by some people, which, fine, that's their opinion, but in general I don't think it's really related to age.
