Meanwhile, seeing Hugh Jackman play Wolverine for the first time incited immediate puberty for me. Like the Hormone Monstress storming in to my room to shred my DiCaprio posters and set fire to my Barbies, "There's a whole WORLD of hairy manflesh out there, girl! Lumberjacks! Lobstermen! Clint Got-Damn Eastwood! GO!" Facial hair has a palpable power.

that's funny. As a young girl, I had a fixation on men with beards and I attribute it entirely to Clint Eastwood in the Good, Bad and Ugly. He was my mental stand in for Aragon when i read Lord of the Rings in fact. I figured I'd marry some guy with a great beard. And then I grew up. And beards, and excessive hair, really aren't my thing anymore on guys. I don't mind a bit but I like clean shaven thanks. And that's from someone in their early forties if anyone's keeping track of ages.
