116. I think the same. Unfortunately, the best chance of being licensed it's got is Viz, and they're busy with Bleach and Naruto.

130. I agree SO MUCH. No, the creator owns it. That's why you'd get smacked down for copyright infringement faster than you can backpedal if you try to make and sell your own version. My local newspaper ran an article back when JKR said Dumbledore was gay saying that it didn't matter what she said because "she had forfeited her creation to the fans" or something. I RAGED SO HARD.

140. I don't know the band, but I remember that picture from waaay back. I think it was on DA or something. I've always loved it.

145. Me neither! I'm sure I'm missing out, but I like my TV series to be pretty. Outdated special effects make me cringe.

148. I think many of them are so vocal about their hatred because it's popular, and it's popular to hate it. You make a post bashing it and there will be tons of people agreeing with it. I find it kind of ridiculous. There are so many more horrible books out there, even ones on the bestseller list (has anyone read The Inheritance Trilogy? You think Meyer likes purple prose...). There are a lot of really awful and shallow shoujo manga that are even worse about portraying healthy relationships than Twilight, yet no one piles on those.

The amount of Twilight hate is really starting to get on my nerves. I like it; I know it's trash, but I like it. I don't think anyone would enjoy seeing a series they like bashed at every turn, which is what's happening. If you hate it, post about what you think once, and move on. Everything that can be said about it has been said several times over.

149. Yes! :D I have a lot of mainstream bands that get ridiculed online on my iPod, but that doesn't mean I'm a huge fan of them. I actually don't pay attention to any of the bands I like outside of when the next CD is coming out. Everytime I do look in to them I usually find out something really stupid that they did (like say AIDS isn't real wtf Dave Grohl) that makes me enjoy their music less.

156. I'm only just getting into DW and I've never seen BSG, but that's a problem in a lot of series. You get these kickass female characters who always end up playing second fiddle to the guys anyway.

Well, maybe Doctor Who wouldn't bother me. I have watched old movies/series with outdated special effects and enjoyed them, but I find they're the exception rather than the rule.

The Twilight-hate is getting on your nerves. The Twilight-squee is getting on mine.

People who love those books have every right to go on and on about them, no matter how shitty the books are, and I don't have to like it. They don't have to stop because it bugs me, or because I think they're idiots with no taste.

But that also means that people who hate the books, and/or are annoyed by all the squee and OMG!Edward crap the obsessive fans go on and on about have every right to point out that the books are shit and the fans are insane. They have a right to their opinions and they have the right to express them, just as fans do.

The books are enormously popular right now, which means they are getting a lot of squee and a lot of shit. Don't like the shit? Tough. It's not going away anytime soon.

Is that really enjoyable, to keep going on about something you hate? Maybe it is, and I'm just not getting it. It just seems to me like many people jump on it because it's popular to write posts flaming it. I see so many of them start with "I don't know why I decided to read this book even though I heard it was terrible..." Yeah, you decided to read it because you wanted to write your own scathing review and get backpats from everyone else hating Twilight.

I don't care so much about people hating it--I'm annoyed by the people who are joining in because they want the attention.

I agree that the fans are crazy. I only briefly looked at the fandom before deciding to never return. But it's mostly confined to Twilight comms, isn't it?
