Probably should've been clearer, that's what I'm sure my friends would think. (For instance, Andi actually has absolutely no purpose in the show but to be the love interest, which slightly bugs me but would drive my friends absolutely and vocally up the wall.)

It's partly just that they're meta-thinkers, and I'm not, and I want something that they can't make me feel bad for loving unconditionally.

I actually really liked it, personally, and I don't really see where the OP's coming from other than maybe the fact that there's a sideplot involving a WoW-type online RPG which . . . I guess someone might expect a fanfic writer to include?

I don't know, I thought it was just as good as the rest of the books in the series.
