148. LOL. Jealous? Disgusted is more like it. They are so easy to openly mock; unintentionally hilarious lines of dialogue, exaggerated teenage angst, sparkling undead, the litany of overused and laughable adjectives, list goes on. I'm sure there are tons of poorly written books by men on the Bestsellers list, but I doubt any of them are as hysterically bad as Twilight... hence why it is much more fun to bitch about it than ignore. (I'm a woman, btw.)

In real life, absolutely, yes, every couple is different, with different expectations and needs and actions and interactions. But sometimes, in fiction, people with limited understandings of relationships and men try and create cardboard exaggerations, misrepresentations, and glorifications of the gay lifestyle. Obviously they are fiction, but it is because of those notoriously bad stereotypes (whiny uke likes being raped! he wants to be a girl! seme has super traumatic past so he manly rapes uke! they have no personalities because they don't need to because they are magically hawt!) that the realistic gay couples and gay couples in real life are sometimes prejudiced against.
The "yaoi fanbrats" and the "anti-yaoi fanbrats" both miss the point, I think. The yf don't understand how relationships work and ruin it for the majority of the sane fandom that can respect and aptly characterize or experience gay relationships, while the a-yf say that the only reason gay couples are dumb is because the yf like them. They're both equally wrong, and both need to look at real gay couples and the well-done fictional ones to see why they're both wrong.
In my opinion. :)
