130. I think either whoever said that is really, really weird, or you are giving us a quote out of context and they aren't talking about having rights to the original work. Which is it, OP?

You know, if you're not against gays and lesbians IRL, then there's no real reason for you to be against twincest IRL as long as the two are a)both comfortable and happy with it, and b)either both male or both female. The whole problem with incest in the first place is because of it being really dangerous genetics-wise, so as long as it's not unhealthy, one-forcing-it-on-the-other, family members who can't actually reproduce being in a sexual relationship isn't going to pose anyone a problem.

There are probably plenty of twins out there who are uncomfortable with twincest, but, and I'm gonna sound callous here- so what? They're not in a relationship. That's great. But them opposing twincest that has nothing to do with them is like a professor opposing teacher/student relationships in fiction in general because they personally would never have sex with any of their students. Well, yes, that's true, but it's just another story element- teacher/student is not trying to imply that all teachers would have relationships with their students and vice versa, and twincest isn't trying to say that all twins have or should have sex with each other.

130.) Some people really hate copyright and think it ruins "art." Which is total BS. And, no, they really think that an author looses their rights the moment it becomes published. It's public, therefore it belongs to Fandom. They really think that the author gives up all their personal rights to their hard work, the moment it becomes public. And I have seen this opinion come from many fans, and as a person working on original works, it really bothered me.

They do seem to think they get magical co-ownership. That everyone who reads or likes it, or writes Fan-Fiction, now has some right to ownership. I'm not even kidding.

That's... that's ridiculous. Okay, so I think it's ridiculous when people oppose fanfiction and authors get all up in arms about fanworks of their series, but this is even more ridiculous. Enjoying something doesn't mean you own it. Play in their sandbox, sure, because you're not affecting the original canon at all, but remember that it's their sandbox. Because you have nothing to do with the original canon at all. o_O

This is why the original creators often get upset. Is people like this. O_O

(Actually, knowing someone who hopes to be one of the "original creators" of something one of these days who actually has the "NO FANFICTION ALLOWED" mentality, according to him, as a personal thing it's because he did all the work and all of the slash fans would completely bastardize everything and so he'll sue anyone who does that sort of thing because his characters are like his children and they're more real to him than some little teenage fanbrat who wants to fuck around with HIS things. And what's sad is I'm almost quoting him verbatim, so yeah. o_o;;)

BUT I AGREE THAT the ones who probably DO get upset for simply this reason do, I think, have a right to be. If they're notably okay with it, it's fine- after all, there are Star Trek and Star Wars and Buffy novelisations, there are rewrites and reimaginings (Wicked and The Looking Glass Wars come to mind), and back in Charles Dickens's time I think a ton of people were writing their own "Pickwick Papers" and making merchandise and he was fine with it- but if they don't give permission, wtf, it is NOT yours to claim.

I don't have the foggiest, really, but I kid you not, this comes up at least once a month. Also occasionally "you know me, so you should not like yaoi. end of story." Which also boggles my mind.

But yes. I hate the gay. Clearly. Otherwise, why would I have a male/male otp? I'm just trying to hide my homophobia behind all of that positive attitude. Also, I really like girls. But I'm ashamed.

S-special reasoning is special. That's... sorta ridiculous. Funny thing is, I AM a lesbian who likes BL, so it's not... impossible? But a really weird assumption to make. The only argument I've ever heard that makes sense is that liking slash/femslash/yaoi/yuri etc can open fans up more to acceptance of those sort of lifestyles and ideas, and since most people fall somewhere in the middle-ish of the Kinsey scale... :/ *shrugs*

Still. Wow. That's ridiculous, especially the "you like me, so you should not like yaoi!" thing. Just what.

And hey, not 105 OP, but since they didn't say anything... I'd also be pretty glad to see some Uke-~~ben~~moto, if you feel like it (and it would be especially nice if paired with Gokudera, because it feels like Gokudera always bottoms)

It makes me giggle to think of them with other names, but those are just so cute. It's like... what. XD
