Help Request

I am back up Secret Santa-ing for IMGUR (I already sent my assigned SS gift out), and my new giftee likes hunting and sci-fi/fantasy novels.

Any recommendations for either would be awesome, as I know pretty much nothing about hunting and am not super into sci-fi/fantasy to know what's popular/good.

Eh. If they couldn't bring themselves to be more specific than that, then I personally think that releases you from a high level of obligation to deliver something awesome. Sci-fi/fantasy is a huge genre and people who are into it are, not surprisingly, opinionated as hell over what's good and what sucks. Maybe creep their profile/comments for clues?

Sadly they only have one comment from 2014 and nothing in their profile. :/ That's what I usually do with my SS's because I can poke their favourites and get an idea of things they like.

And yeah that's the part that has me wobbling. Like, my extent of sci-fi/fantasy love is pretty much Doctor Who and Day of the Triffids, it's such a huge expanse of different types of novels.

Sorry, that sucks. It's also kind of a pet peeve of mine - people who sign up for exchanges and Secret Santas and then provide almost no information on their likes/dislikes, hobbies, etc. Like... why do you bother, then? Do you WANT your gift to suck, or do you just want to make it as hard as possible on the person assigned to you? Help us help you, moron!

Anyway. Maybe poke around Amazon's $10 and under section? They've got some slightly geeky gifts there, warm hats/scarves and Amazon has a huge collection of novelty mugs.

And maybe something edible and local to your region?

Oooh, thank you! Those are some good ideas! :)

Yeah, my favourite is people who are vague and then grumble about the gifts they do get. Like... what did you expect? Psychic knowledge of your likes and dislikes?
