This is an astonishing slap at his own intelligence community. There are concerns about how the FBI uses some of this data, but if this law expires altogether the US will lose eavesdropping on foreign adversaries and terrorists.
The Intel agencies are operating under an order that is valid until April. The issue is not whether we should spy on foreigners. We should. The issue is should we spy on Americans without a warrant? The answer is NO."
