Any Friends fans here? Trying to find an episode...

So there's this...lost/"secret" (also known as my mom probably being crazy) episode of Friends that my mom has been trying to find.

It's about Rachel going to a funeral for the dad of some guy she's dating. The guy has a little niece who's like 5 or 6. She's sad, and Rachel tries to make her feel better and says something along the lines of "Grandpa's always watching you, he's here right now", and the little girl says something like "you mean my grandpa's a ghost?!" and Rachel says that he is, and the little girl freaks out and runs off screaming.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'm not hugely into Friends and haven't seen that many episodes, but from googling and asking a couple of my friends who love the show, it seems this episode doesn't exist, but my mom swears it does. Is this an episode anyone else here has seen? Or could it maybe be a movie Jennifer Aniston was in? Thanks!

It's also possible your mom is mixing it up with another show, OR mixing up episodes.

Also, "Grandpa's watching over you" sounds more of a Phoebe thing to say. Maybe she's thinking of Phoebe? But I don't remember an episode with Phoebe saying it either.

I'll have to ask her if it could be that movie, thanks!

From what I've seen of the show, I also thought it seems more in character for Phoebe, but she's fairly sure it's Rachel (which is why I thought it might be from one of Jennifer Aniston's movies). I'm thinking either it's from something else and she got confused or else she just completely imagined it lol.

I'm reasonably certain that never happened in the show. The only incident that ever involved a little girl and suggestions of a ghost... happened to Joey.

What was the situation? Was it a funeral, or something that could've possibly been mistaken for what she's remembering (like, idk, maybe a wedding or something else in a church and the dead grandpa just happened to be mentioned or something)?

No, it was the episode where Joey accompanied Chandler and Monica to view prospective houses, in the last season. The little girl was played by Dakota Fanning. You can probably find clips of that on YouTube.

Ah, ok. Yeah, that's definitely not it. She's gotta be thinking of something else. Knowing her it's going to turn out to be like...Law & Order or something that's not even remotely similar to Friends.

So I just talked to a friend who remembers a similar scene and says it wasn't from Friends but some other sitcom that was on around the same time and didn't last very long so I think I'm gonna post on the subreddit someone suggested.
