YES! Kale is a garbage food for garbage people! Keep it out of my delicious smoothies! ٩(ఠ益ఠ)۶

:(

Kale is great roasted.

Though I refuse to put it in a smoothie, roasted or no.

Well.... I've never had it roasted. So maybe roasted kale is not garbage and people who like roasted kale are also not garbage.

But regular kale is gross. ┐( ˘ 、 ˘ )┌

You mean, like kale chips? Yeah, they're not terrible but they don't really taste like anything except the salt you put on them.

I fucking hate kale... unless it's in Zuppa Toscana at Olive Garden. Then it can stay.

I like kale fine as an ingredient in savory soups or salads or as filling/topping for bread with some cheese and onions, but trying to “disguise” it or other leafy greens in fruit smoothies or brownies or any sweet thing just ruins whatever you add it to.

My partner's mother took us for dinner the other night and I ordered something covered in kale purely because I'd never tried it and was feeling adventurous.

No. Nooooo no no. No. Never again. But I had that guilt thing going on where I knew I wasn't the one paying for it so I forced it down going "MMMMMM. YUM. REALLY NICE. YEP."

Devil's vegetable.

Kale is awesome, sorry.

Mature kale us bitter if uncooked (or un-massaged, but who has time to give their food a massage?), so I can see why it turns people off. But, it lasts longer in the fridge than spinach or lettuce and doesn't instantly turn to mush when cooked. I use kale in cooked dishes and spinach for raw salads or just-barely-wilted uses, and I love them both.

I don't understand smoothies at all. I'd much rather eat the ingredients separately.
