I'm a 42-year-old woman who generally likes most female characters (even ones fandom hates, like Bela from Supernatural) and I disliked Holdo. I think she handled things very poorly, and we didn't get enough about her outside of those decisions for me to care about her despite them. It's not rabid hate on my part, but I can see why she was criticized. At least to an extent.
