minimalism

Is this minimalism trend ever going to end? I am so over clean lines and neutral colors. Give me wildly painted walls plastered in art and posters! Give me mismatched furniture! Give me throw pillows in florals and polka dots and plaid, all on the same sofa! Maybe throw in a disco ball for good measure.

Does your style lean more towards minimalism or maximalism?

I've been told my decor choices are eye-searing, so I guess my style is maximalism. I love bright colors and (organized) clutter.

I'm kind of in between. I don't mind all the white/grey monochrome as a look, but it's not very homey. I wouldn't actually want to live that way and prefer something more cozy... soft fabrics and squashy sofas with lots of pillows, pretty rugs, etc. Nothing too bright or bold for me.

I like contrast so I would probably be somewhere in the middle. I like to pair bright colors/patterns with neutral colors. As far as furniture goes I'm not super fond of a lot of modern furniture because it's so boxy, I love curves even if it isn't always practical. I mean my perfect house would basically be a "haunted mansion" house (aka Gothic) with like secret rooms and shit and a big ass library.

I find it easier to clean if I have less things to clean, so not hoarding levels of junk, but I still like to have little spots of interest and art. My room isn't as obnoxious as it used to be, but there's still some colour and life going on. I hate modern looking anything, so most of my furniture is thrifted or new but old looking.

My friend is the opposite and doesn't want to touch anything that's had a previous owner. Her room looks like a very fancy hospital. Everything is white.

I love bright colors (and patterns, as long as the person using them has an eye for what they're doing). I also love a lot of contrasting textures. I don't love a ton of clutter, but a little clutter is very good.

I'm also a total quality slut. I just want all my things to be high quality - no cheap, flimsy shit. Which is too bad, because cheap, flimsy shit is mostly what I can afford, lol.
