Is it really asking a lot for you to get the point? So they haven't played/read/watched the series. They know the character, they get their voice. If they're not butchering the characterization, then what the hell is your problem?

I've seen players who do it worse even after doing all of that. Sorry, but your argument's really not holding any water here. I'd see it as a problem if they were ooc, not if they're, gasp! Doing it right!

while getting panties in a knot over it is not really necessary, it's true that someone playing a character from a fandom they're not in/ have played the game of/ read or watched are missing out, it's not exactly proof that they can't play the character right. theoretically, playing the game would do them good.

but i play characters from a game I can't afford. so I'm guilty and know... it?
