122. IDK, maybe it also has something to do with how the phrase "proud to be an American" has been coopted by loud, obnoxious people with awful ideals? Not that everyone who's proud to be an American is a jerk like that, but unfortunately people like that have come to be associated with the phrase, just like they've come to be associated with Christianity. It sucks, but I can understand why people would be wary of the phrase.

129. Really? I'm not huge into musical theater fandom, but I know my Sondheim, and I distinctly recall reading critical essays that questioned the necessity of her death. As a general rule, second acts, especially Sondheim ones, are very controversial critically--especially the second acts of Sunday in the Park with George and Into the Woods. Of course ITW's second act is necessary, but there's a lot of argument over whether it really needed to go that far into kill-'em-all territory.

107) Is this Shoebox? I agree 100% with your sentiments, but if this is Shoebox, I think you could have chosen a different fic as an example. One of the points of Peter's characterization in Shoebox is that he cuts himself down. McGonagall is curt by nature. Shoebox!Peter just takes that personally and is a lot more affected by it. So if a particular part of the story is being told from his POV, it makes sense that people seem like they're out to get him, because he feels like they are.

Well, I don't think he'd be HORRIBLE, but he's much better suited to play Q, a wacky sidekick character, or a Bond villain. Him playing Bond is much like Peter Sellers playing a Bond in the original Casino Royale movie. It'd be fun as a PARODY.

And can you just picture David Tennant emerging from the ocean in swim trunks instead of Daniel Craig? OMG that'd be...special. XD He's a cutie, but not THAT kind of a cutie.

I think David Tennant fans need to face a fact...he's a geeky character actor who suddenly found himself in leading roles. He's immensely talented and definitely set for life, but he's not really going to be competing for roles with the likes of Russell Crowe, Christian Bale, or Will Smith...and thank god for that!
