Anything financial. I was good in math in school. But practical financial stuff? Forget it.

A lot of things that involve using my hands or spacial sense. Sewing, cutting things with a knife, making things even or level or straight.

I'm kinda the opposite in regards to math. I was awful at algebra and geometry, so I got put in personal finance (the "dumb" math class) instead of calculus for my last year of high school. It was the first math class where I got an A. So now I can do my own taxes and calculate APR, but I still have trouble solving for x and y and figuring out the circumfrence of a circle and I have no idea why my brain works that way.

because finance and maths are POLES APART

as somebody who did maths at uni, i got shoved towards doing financial stuff afterwards - and it bored the shit out of me

you study maths and it's advanced calculus, and logic and reasoning and graph theory and knot theory and coding theory and multiple integrals and vector field theory and FUCKING TENSORS

and then you go into finance... and it's columns in an excel spreadsheet

Ugh, same here with finance. I've never done my own taxes before. My dad also tries to get me involved with real estate stuff because our family has some land investments and because the house we all live in is partially mine by title, but no matter how much he tries to explain mortgage, equity, refinancing, or anything financial housing it flies over my head. I just want to rent an apartment for the rest of my life because that seems the simplest thing to do and I don't plan on marrying or having my own family.

I know it's all important, but it's such a headache. I wish they taught real-world finance classes in school. Maybe I'd have learned this stuff by now.
