For real life people I know? Probably 99% of the books I've ever read. If I had to pick out some for RL and online, I'd say most of the Robert Cormier books I've read.

One I've been thinking of recently is Shade's Children by Garth Nix. That was such a horrifying book that most people seem to have never heard of.

I have not read it since high school but I think it was my first taste of dark scifi!

I was terrified by that book in high school. I don't remember the details anymore but I remember all of Garth Nix's stuff being pretty terrifying/horrifying depending on the book
