Infamous, I love superheroes so my bf recommended it to me thinking that I'd really enjoy it, I did not.

The gameplay and powers were really fun and nicely designed, but I could not for the life of me stand any of the main characters(Cole was so fucking boring, his bff was an irritating shit-head and his gf was... I can barely remember her tbh but I know I didn't like her either), the only character I even vaguely enjoyed was the first villain you kill. I very quickly stopped playing the game after that.

You could give it another try with Infamous: Second Son. Same concept, fun gameplay, different characters.

When Infamous came out there was a lot of fandom crossover between Assassin's Creed (which I was waaaay into), Infamous, and Protoype. I just could not get into the latter two no matter how hard I tried. They just looked so goddamn GRIM. Infamous had that monochrome blue thing going on and Protoype had the hellish red thing and both of those are okay in small doses but not for a whole game.

Infamous:Second Son is still grim at its core (human experiments and all) but it's also a lot of fun in between and more light hearted in a lot of places(at least if you play a good karma game. The bad one gets accordingly darker results). And it's so much more colourful. It has different characters (main character is a native American graffiti artist, your comrades in arms are a punk girl, a gamer nerd and the MC's long suffering older brother who's a policeman), it takes place in Seattle, and the powers you get are seriously fun (like NEON. You can leech powers from NEON signs!).
