I think a lot of the people who watch aren't necessarily fandom people.

But also, there are just some shows that you watch and that's all you do with them. You don't tweet about them, you don't write fic about them, you don't look for fic about them, etc. Sure you'll share your opinion if someone asks, but you're not proactive about it.

Exactly. Most people are not geeks who think and talk way too much about TV shows. When they watch TV shows they do so because they need something to do between diner and bedtime.
