Secrets you're not gonna make but wanna share

(Anonymous) 2018-01-19 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
I recently was rewatching the new Cinderella (with Cate Blanchett) and I realized the Prince's breeches were super tight. Like...definingly tight. It was...rather distracting.

Secret because I was watching it with my mom & who am I going to talk to about this?

Bonus secret: I'm now wondering the state of men's breeches from the 16th to mid 19th centuries (of course, I also panic at the state of hygiene and disease in those times...)

Obligatory "haaaaaaaaave you watched Labyrinth?" :D

I kinda love the whole frock-coat and breeches Regency look, dang. Especially as it is paired with a less restrictive and complicated-corsetry fashion for women, comparatively to previous and Victorian styles. I guess I get some kind of vaguely vengeful schadenfreude that there were periods of time where *men* got judged on their shapely legs (and etc), y'know?

Except on Alan Rickman as Judge Turpin that was getting very unsavoury.

Ayrt

I believe the question is "How many times have I seen Labyrinth?" lol

Yes, breeches, frockcoats, Good Lord have mercy. Billowy shirts too. Sigh & swoon.
