The animation is a little dated because it's from 2011, but if you're starting with it it's not going to be terribly noticeable. It starts out as cheesy superhero fun? but gets a little dark towards the end. On the violence scale, I'd say it's more towards a Marvel movie than a Tarantino movie. The storyline is coherent and easy to follow, has two distinct but connected arcs. One that goes from episodes 1-13 and the second from 14-25.

My one warning would be to skip the first 5 minutes of episode 16 if domestic abuse bothers you, the scene that could have been told instead of shown as a character's backstory. Ever since the episode aired, I've skipped that scene and warned everyone because it can be a major trigger.

The setting on it's own is basically a Neo-Manhattam, but with the fantastical elements of superpowers, and some sort of weird retro look, with modern conveniences.

If it's at all possible, watch it on Hulu or Viz's website, because the Netflix version has stripped some elements within the show that are actually important to the plot and they skipped the after credit scenes.

Haha, thank you. NGL but I clicked on that link totally expecting to see an actual animated tiger and bunny, having adventures sort of like a Japanese Winnie the Pooh.

I think that was a common misconception when the showed first aired.
