I don't have an SO, but my best friend's expecting her first baby and is knitting a blanket for him. Her husband saw what she was doing and wanted to learn how to knit so he could contribute to the baby's blanket. He's made a couple of wonky squares so far, but keeps trying so the baby can have a perfect blanket.

When we sit on the couch in the evening watching TV, I'll sometimes stretch a foot over to his side of the couch because he likes to hold onto it and squeeze it gently. :)
