Yummy in reference to food irritates me. Yummy in reference to anything that is not food fills me with seething rage.

and "yummy" annoys me too, it just feels very cutesy and cloying and, like, minimizing. but that doesn't mean no one is allowed to say it. it just means that it annoys me.

I'm just wondering what we're supposed to use instead. Or if the word yummy offends you what words you use to describe yummy food. Out of curiousity.

Gosh, you're right. There are LITERALLY NO WORDS other than "yummy" and "exquisite" to describe how food tastes so if the Word Police make "yummy" illegal, 50% of our vocabulary is gone!!

Oh god, I was only thinking about the food applications, but yes, hearing "yummy" to describe someone who's physically attractive makes me want to hurl.
