Re: How to handle a broken toe?

I broke my middle toe once (and both of my pinkies twice each - all at different times) when I had to do a bunch of outdoor work for my job. I covered it with a finger splint and taped it in place, and then wore my winter work boots, which are big and roomy in the toe. It eventually healed fine.

Tape it to the adjacent toes, preferably with some padding on either side to keep it in its proper place, and then wear stiff-soled shoes (to help keep it still) and go really easy on it. You'll want to re-do the tape and padding an a regular basis (like daily) because it will wear off with walking and showering. Keep an eye on it though.

SA - you can get medical tape at drug stores. It's easy to tear, flexible, durable, and doesn't hurt too much when you peel it off your skin.
