And pay 400 $ to be told they can't do anything? Nah.

You're right. Modern medicine has no cure for broken toes, or indeed, any and all broken bones. Getting bones re-set, splinted or put into a cast is only something they do in socialist countries. All they can do for OP is sprinkle some rainwater gathered on a clear spring night during the full moon, perform a mystical chant and then charge OP a huge co-pay.

Dude, don't talk about shit you've clearly never experienced. I've broken my tow three times, went to the doctor the first two times and literally all they could do was put some cotton between my toes and tape them so the broken one would heal in the right alignment. What do you think they're gonna do, put you into surgery to bolt your tiny fucking toe bone?

No one's saying only socialist countries have proper healthcare. But there is literally nothing a nurse or doctor can do for broken toes that you couldn't do at home with some medical tape and cotton wool. I was speaking from experience of breaking my toe, exactly the same as OP.

I’ve known a couple of people who broke toes and went to the doctor for it, and unless anything else in the foot is broken, they tape the toes together with a bit of padding, tell you to keep your foot up when possible and take some tylenol or another NSAID, and send you home.

I broke my pinky toe in college, went to the Health Care center and was told they couldn't do anything for it. If it were a different broken bone, you might have a point, but not a toe.
