When I was a kid I assumed I'd probably have kids someday, yeah, but that's all the more I really thought about the idea. I did love the idea of big families as a kid, not so much in a "I want to have a big family of my own" way, but in a "I want lots of siblings" way.

Now my attitude is more, "If it happens, fine, if not, that's fine, too." I know I sure as hell don't want and am not ready to have kids right now, because I'm just not financially stable enough to take care of them. But when I do get to that point, who knows?

I do think if I ever decide to have kids, though, I'd like to adopt if I could afford to do so, simply because being pregnant kinda makes me nervous. I know many women go through pregnancy just fine, but I hear stories about some of the health issues and complications some deal with and it all gives me pause as a result.

I should amend that last paragraph a bit-the pregnancy concern is one of the reasons I want to adopt, but not the only one. The thought of being able to give a child a much needed home is also good, and something I'd love to do if I can.
