As opposed to every male/female friendship, which is completely chaste and has no shipping at all?

That's even worse in actual films/shows. If there's a female character then they'll have romance with someone. Very few decent male/female friends in media.

And when there is I ship them harder than the male/female romantic canon couples in media because their relationship looks more appealing to me, and then feel extremely guilty over it because I also hate that there's so few good examples of m/f friendship. :(

I mean, first, what shows are you watching that are full of chaste male/female relationships to be exploited for ship fic?

But second, why does OP's statement have to be "as opposed to" anything, you big concern troll?

it's relevant if OP is presenting this as something distinctive and specific to how fandom approaches M/M relationships

If you don’t like slash, just say you don’t like slash. Don’t make it about ruining all those rich and complex friendships, because if you buy the idea that romance ruins friendships, then half the romances come “pre-ruined.”

You're the troll here. It's a valid point.

Seconding the three replies above mine. (Sorry F!S, I'm just that lazy today.)
