Can you rec any books? Seems like the only gay books are YA or erotica. I don't dislike the categories but I'd like some variety.

Moderately. I read a lot of manga and a fair bit of yuri.

Not as gay as I'd like, but them's the breaks because my tastes are weird. It's usually either media with good queer representation, or media I'm actually interested in for plot reasons.

One of my favorite authors tends to have very interesting queer characters, but they also have a tendency to die, so. Though the main character of one of his series' is bi, and she lives! ...really, it's more that he writes stories wherein large amounts of characters with established personalities die.

TV & Film: Not really. There is an occasional gay character, but I don't particularly pay attention to them.

Literature: Not at all.

Comics & manga: 30/70 yaoi/other

Honestly, even though probably most of my main ships are slash, most of my fandoms are not very gay at all. I just find the chemistry and ship away, ignoring canon.

When it comes to shows and movies, not very. Books and manga are different. A good number of the books I read last year featured LGBT characters.

Does it matter? I like what I like. Sometimes it has a few lgbt characters, sometimes everyone is, sometimes no one is. Doesn't mean loving any of it is wrong.

Fic-wise, pretty much 100 percent. TV/Movie/pro-fic, iffy. Fifty percent? I blame it on - the creators and, most gay/lesbian/bi stuff out there that i have found being either really depressing and/or coming out stories rather than 'character x does a thing, and they're gay' stories, which i would prefer.

Also - skews heavily toward YA, which i'm not much interested in.

My tastes skew pretty hard in the science fiction/fantasy direction, so. Not nearly as gay as I'd like. But my only real current fandom (an MMO) is pretty conducive to OCs, so you bet I GAY IT THE FUCK UP.

With TV relatively since most of the shows I'm currently watching have at least one LGBT character and the genre TV I prefer(supernatural/fantasy/sci-fi) has gotten better at actually including LGBT characters over the years, which is nice.

My movie and game choices are sadly much less gay because of my genre preference and LGBT characters really don't get to exist much in those atm.

With books it's about 50/50, some of it's 100% hetro some of it's 100% gay because it is actually easier to find the kinds of plots I like with LGBT characters with books.

Not nearly as gay as it should be, though I've found a few TV shows - I'm watching Harlots and The Handmaid's Tale (waiting for the second season of both) and One Day at a Time (haven't watched the second season yet) and they both have LGBT characters. And I'm reading and writing more f/f fanfic - mostly writing, which isn't "consumption" but let's not split hairs.

I don't read that many books with LGBT characters. I'm primarily interested in f/f, not m/m, but I'm sure there's stuff out there that I just haven't looked for hard enough yet.
