So... it's okay for him to be a child soldier who is piloting a giant fighting robot when he's under 18 but having sex is bad wrong not okay? I literally do not understand this logic at all.

Well, technically, he was eighteen when he started piloting a giant robot lion, so he was legal enough to be a solider and legal enough to fuck at that point in the story.

But still, LMAO at this whole thing. Keith was living on his own for a year before he turned eighteen (literally on his own in the middle of nowhere in a desert). But apparently a dude can be grown up enough to be self-sufficient and support himself but still shouldn't date or fuck an older guy until he's eighteen. (I wonder how this logic applies in places where the age of consent is sixteen.)
