AND they have to walk the line between not!queerbaiting and not!queerhating if their established straight character(s) has a decent following of slash fans. Focus on their m/f relationships too much, get accused of being homophobic. Focus on their same gender relationships too much, get accused of queerbaiting.

Not saying queerbaiting doesn't happen and it isn't annoying when it does. But most cases just seem so clearly not to me.
