I'm a deeply suicidal person and I couldn't disagree more. There is no way to slice this that isn't him doing this to avoid the sentencing. That is not a mentally ill person acting due to their illness, it's a pedophile being confronted with consequences for his crime and running from them.

because not being sorry over someone who harmed kids with their actions means i have no empathy for other people who take their own lives.

it's almost like there's a huge difference between the two and you're being deliberately obtuse.

Man, talk about a logical fallacy! No I don't think that! Situations are different and motive does matter. Nothing happens in a vacuum anon. Way to put words in my mouth anon though.

And tbh, as a suicidal person, seeing a lot of people immediately willing to gloss over Mark Salling's disgusting crimes just because he killed himself makes me infinitely more uncomfortable than the people celebrating. It falls way to close to glamorizing it than I am comfortable with. You also having been suicidal does not change how I feel about this, or you.

Hey I've been suicidal! I've been suicidal for fucking years! :D I was suicidal earlier today, even!

I think it's okay for this guy to commit suicide. I think it's okay for ANYONE to commit suicide. It's a last resort measure for people who can't see any way out, or don't think they have the strength to continue on until "it (maybe) gets better." I don't do it bc I'm a bleeding heart who doesn't want to traumatize other people with my horrible corpse, but ultimately it's a personal choice.

But you know what's super shitty? Acting like Mark the Molester offing himself is some huge fucking tragedy because it was a suicide, and that we all need to tip-toe around it lest the people who self-identify too strongly with a fucking pedophile wind up feeling worse about themselves.

Why are you assuming that suicidal people will make the huge, tremendous leap of thinking that people who are glad a pedophile killed himself would also be glad a regular non-pedo killed themselves? Because I think that's a stretch. Like I said, I've been suicidal for years and I've never once heard about some fucking freakshow of a person killing themselves and seen the positive response and thought "gee whiz people are so glad that this horrible monster is dead, they must want me dead too~!"
