Not gonna lie, the first time was pure nepotism. My mom worked at a teaching hospital, one of the doctors was looking for someone to do some filing, and she recommended me.

Then I quit because a) my boyfriend lived in another city and b) the office supervisor had some issues and took them out on me.

My current job (I work for the county) I got in the legit way; I took the test and interviewed until somebody hired me.

You might want to look into government jobs.
