What merch would you love to see from your favorite fandoms that doesn't currently exist?

I want a plush crystal fox critter from TLJ. A nice big one the size of my Eeyore. It's also difficult to find a really nice plush porg that looks nice. They have a lot of porg stuff and people have said they've found the right kind of plush porg but I haven't yet. The cute ones are the ones that are hard and make noise. Plush ones are hard to find.

Hmm, how would you make a crystal fox plushie...? Seems like it would be difficult to get right.

I don't think so. Just make the crystal fur out of fabric.

Maybe use some iridescent fibers, too?

I'm surprised that someone hasn't actually come up with that. Then again, I haven't exactly gone looking, so maybe somebody has?

In universe books from the Pokemon world. Books on the history of every region or single issues of Pokemon type magazines that help flesh out the world.

I would love it if productions kept a public list of where they buy the set and wardrobe stuff, because I always see cute things I want either because it's awesome or as a less obvious fandom related thing. Sometimes I can track down a clothing item online or someone else has done the work for me, but it's not always easy.

I love vintage reproduction stuff too.

I think that sometimes it's often rented props or stuff someone found at a thrift store, unfortunately. But yeah, I'd like to see that, too!

I just want some Silmarillion merch in general. I'm not particular.

Okay, but what if the Tolkien estate was willing to create whatever merch you asked for and gift it to you as a thank you for being a fan. What would you want?

Oh, wow. Uh, well, this couldn't happen, but art of how Tolkien saw the characters looking like would be the best thing ever. I love putting nerdy artwork and posters on my wall, so Silm art would be great.

What could actually be made to exist, I love that sort of nerdy gadget or thing that is something useful but shaped like a nerdy thing. Like the death star ice ball maker or a Star Wars themed flashdrive. So things like that.

Screen/stage accurate costume replicas, and fabric to make them for those of us that can sew but don’t have a spare $10k+ per costume. Shirts and other merch that has my favorite characters on it, and not just quotes by or about them. Dishes other than mugs.

as a commissioner, I feel you - especially during that stage in my business' early years when everyone wanted Star Wars replicas circa Attack of the Clones and I had to break it to them that Lucasfilm had all their fabric milled in France, it wasn't fabric you could just go out and buy at a store.

but at the same time I know what goes into movie production so I know exactly why they don't produce screen-accurate replicas. Some of that shit is literally made up the day of shooting and stitched or glued onto the actor, there's no beautiful garment they can just pattern and copy.

AYRT—one of my favorite costumes is for a replica stage show and the fabric is custom embroidered for every new copy of that costume. I’ve considered destruct-testing my crappy embroidery machine, but by my best estimate just the machine embroidery would be 200-300 hours of work before the patterning or sewing started. Another costume from the same show uses custom printed shot-silk made by a single husband and wife team that retails for $500/yd. Since it’s shot silk, the replicas on Spoonflower are all close but no cigar.

I know how it goes. We have a customizable embroidery machine and sometimes the work involved in jacquarding or making an all-over garment-sized design is enough to nope right out of it. At that rate it would almost take the same amount of time to hand-embroider it. /looks at Chinese fantasy designs, shakes fist

Interviews with my favorite band (Die Ärzte) with English subtitles. (Any interview they've ever done, I'm not picky.) It's never going to happen but I can dream.

Dolls about the size of Barbies but with way better facial sculpts and paint jobs, so I can make 1/8, or whatever scale Barbies are, costumes for them. One of my fandoms was supposed to have action figures of most of the main characters made, but in the end I think they only made three, none of them of characters I like.
