My cat is 18 years old, and I've had him for that long.

All I can say is that Mr. Fishman there would not be in such nice shape for very long if that were my cat. And neither would any human.

...so if your cat got out (accidents happen) and eats the neighbor's bird/gerbil/whatever, you'd be okay with them hurting it in revenge? Never mind that predatory behavior is natural in cats and they can't possibly understand that birds/gerbils/whatever are also pets to humans?
