Reviews are that it is really bad. Probably why they decided to put it on Netflix. ALSO, this movie was written before the second movie and was not at all related. They just tacked any Cloverfield stuff on out of nowhere.

I really enjoyed it, even though its attachment to Cloverfield seems tenuous at best.

The connection was shoehorned in like it was in Cloverfield Lane. I think Abrams just buys scripts he likes and adds an alien in randomly.

Oh man, I really loved Cloverfield Lane, though that's mostly because of John Goodman and Mary Elizabeth Winstead's performances.

But yeah, they're so incredibly...I mean, I guess I can see how they all piece together? But. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ You're probably onto something wrt Abrams, haha.

Yeah, most people think Cloverfield Lane is a 10/10 movie except for the last 15 minutes or so that are pretty meh.

Really? I *loved* that last bit, where our girl not only kicked some alien ass, but decided to go on and be a freedom fighter or rebel or whatever, too.

I wanted the movie of *what comes next*, following her becoming a bad ass soldier and taking down aliens.
