101. Wasn't there one like this awhile ago? Which is to say--clearly Twilight Zone is made of awesome and still has oodles of fans. It was the kind of show that taught you lessons, that made you think, and--I'm convinced--could help people become better story-tellers in general. It was just that good, and I heart it many times over.


102. Huh. I'm sure I've heard it before, but when was he in R&J? I totally want to go see him in the two he's in this summer, but I don't think that's one. (And honestly, I think I will be able to tolerate DT as Hamlet. I don't think I could stomache him as Romeo, but it's rare that I don't just want to punch Romeo in the face anyway).

117. Oh. Oh yes, the fandom is wildly pro-Tennant. That's why I see Tennant-hate everywhere I turn and feel guilty for not despising him or at least wanting him to go away as all the cleverer fans do.
Tennant is not my favourite, not by a long shot. There's still Six and Nine. And then Two, if more of Troughton's stories had survived, would probably beat all three into the dirt for me.

Here's the thing that may or may not have occurred to you--maybe a lot of us like him because he is so freaking flawed. I like my Doctor to have hang-ups (Two non-withstanding). Ten is almost having a sort of midlife crisis. He refuses to concentrate on things and hates taking anything seriously because he's tired/scared of being hurt. Yes, that's emo. But I love it. I love seeing the Doctor that screwed up. Als Ten completely terrifies me. He's got mood swings like mad. He is messed up and I love it.

Yeah, he's hot. Slim lad in pinstripes and all that. But I'd rather be snuggling up with Six or Nine or Five. So it's really not just the hotness.

140. No, no you are clearly not, and I can't imagine what would lead you to believe that. Almost every single fan I know hated that book, for one reason or another. There is no excuse for that epilogue, especially knowing that she wrote it, almost word-for-word after the first book. I'm sorry, no. It didn't gel, and if she hadn't been so rushed/if an editor had had some balls, maybe they could've said the equivilant of "Hey, JKR, y'wanna betta or something on these last two? Because they kind of suck, and I think you forgot how to construct decent prose and believable character actions and all."
In some ways, for me, the series ends at OotP. I knew I'd probably disregard things from DH just to make the inner fangirl in me happier, but thank you, JKR, for making it easier by writing in a style and direction I could find with little difficulty on ff.n.

101. Twilight Zone fan here! *waves* I've seen nearly every episode and it doesn't surprise me that so many other shows and movies rip off pay homage to Serling. The man was brilliant.

I'm biased of course, since they're my OTP, but I can make a rather good case for the ship.

140: I think the book was good, except for the epilogue and romance parts. I think she does friendship, adventure and suspense rather well.

117. I agree about Eccleston. I love Tennant, but I think Eccleston was more like the old series Doctors whilst still being an individual.

119. He's supposed to be insanely awesome. Also, some of the old series Doctors weren't quite like that. The First Doctor kidnapped his first two companions, the Fifth Doctor quite frequently failed so save people (*cough*Adric*cough*) and the seventh Doctor was... rather unpleasant at times, I believe.

1. I love the Twilight Zone. I grew up with it. It terrified me, but it taught me many of the same lessons that you mentioned. It also taught me important lessons about plot and characterization.

140. No, I hated the last book. The fourth one is the last that maintained the spark that made me love the first book. Half of the time I forget that the fifth, sixth and seventh books are even out.

I get upset when people complain about how Gosho is 'jumping the shark' or 'reusing old plot ideas' or 'causing the series to go down the drain by not doing any plot/character development' etc etc... Honestly, I think the series is great as it is, and I think he's doing fine keeping me entertained and developing the plot/characters at his own pace. :3 I love the little mini-arcs~

I'm going to be very sad when it ends too ;___; (even if I am eager to have Conan return to being Shinichi, but that's just my fangirl side talking)

117. I adore Doctor Who but I stay the fuck out of that fandom because the fangirls scare me. Nine is definitely my favorite Doctor. I mean, I love Tennant, but 10 can be a total jerk. Eccleston, for all that he's not as much "fun" on set or off, is so much more interesting to watch and makes for a more fully-rendered Doctor.
