What characters remind you of yourself, and/or people you know?

Spoilers for Crazy Ex Girlfriend

Just in case.

Not really in overall personality, but Rebecca from Crazy Ex Girlfriend reminds me a LOT of a former friend, who actually did tell me she had BPD. (Although it was an online diagnosis, so...) It's sad because on one hand I now understand things that I didn't before - why she was so obsessive over certain people (although her "Joshes" were all platonic), and why our last fight was an innocent comment I made that turned into her shredding me into pieces as a person. I believed she tricked me into the argument by asking for my opinion; now I think she wanted validation that she wasn't being unreasonable.

On the other hand, I wish I'd understood WHY she was the way that she was, because maybe I could have been a better friend. I don't even think I fully believed she had BPD because I didn't really understand it. I mean, it was a very toxic friendship, so internally I know it had to end, and I was also young - around nineteen or twenty when we "broke up", so to speak. I can't help but wonder if I could've been more supportive, though.

I knew a girl in high school who looked a lot like Rachel Berry from Glee. Ironically, she was also the one who got the most leading roles in the theater crowd. I always felt a bit sorry for her because some of the theater kids were jealous of her and claimed she was the worst. Maybe she was, I only knew her in passing and a few shared classes, but I always felt that they just didn't like the favoritism she admittedly got, which wasn't really her fault. She always seemed nice enough to me.

But yeah, totally looked just like Rachel Berry. Weird, actually. O_o

Bilbo is me. I just want to stay at home and not be bothered. But if something important needs to be done, I'll get out and do it. But I won't be happy.

For those I know, Dan from "Roseanne" was so much like my own dad it was spooky. And Helga Pataki from "Hey Arnold" reminds me of a friend of mine from middle school, just without the whole "beating up/threatening others" thing. They both had a similar sarcastic, smart-ass personality.

For myself, I can relate to the awkwardness of Britta from "Community" and Reid from "Criminal Minds" (as well as his bookish personality and interest in nerdy things), and I can also relate a little bit to Pam from "The Office"-the same kinda quiet, unassuming personality and whatnot.

I had to stop watching the Edge of Seventeen because the main character's self loathing hit way too close to home.

I also feel like most of my favorite characters are a lot like me but I cannot decide if that's true or if I am just projecting.

Kae Serinuma kinda reminds me of me and my friend when we squee over pairings together.

Barbara Havers from the Inspector Lynley mysteries used to remind me of me. (Book Barbara, not TV show Barbara.) Kind of a mess but really doesn't want anybody's advice about it, can be jealous and have trouble making friends, but is loyal to the friends she has and good at her job. (Wow, I'm making myself sound like a party to be around!)

Brennan from Bones reminded me of myself sometimes. But her characterization was incredibly inconsistent, to other time she didn't, at all.
