LOL, I am (was?) actually in the fandom and it's funny now, but seeing that crap everywhere among the normal fic, art, and discussions was terrifying. Just, the intensity and volatility of how some people reacted disturbed me. If you're that invested/upset over a show, your biggest problem will never be the show itself.

But s4 itself was so bad it was funny. That sister in Azkaban...

I've been in the fandom...forever, basically, and I still am, marginally, but I completely agree with this.

I mean, it didn't surprise me, because I'd seen how the whole TJLC thing took off, and I'd watched the proliferation of increasingly convoluted and intense meta where it was concerned. So when S4 completely flew in the face of TJLC I was like, Oh boy, batten down the hatches all ye who are sane.

But still, people's need to find some way - ANY way - to keep liking canon made me sad.
