YES! I always have my hand on the volume dial on my speakers.

The miscommunication thing in ANY kind of media, including fic. HATE.

Tbh these days I just keep the volume low and put the subtitles on, it saves time, and scrambling for the remote. Granted this is only really applicable to Netflix but it's where I watch most of my TV these days so.

It's so annoying, like once or twice I can forgive because sometimes it can work, but so often it's just like TALK TO EACH OTHER FFS YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE FRIENDS/FAMILY/LOVERS act like it.

Oh man it's even more annoying when the pair in canon actually do communicate and talk to each other but people write them having huge issues through lack of communication and it's like, do you not watch the thing? This is not a problem they have. But tbh I do just back-click and move on.

YESSSSS!! Like - char a and char b are dating/flirting/whatever. They trust each other, they talk, they're good people as a rule.

Char c doesn't like char a, and char b knows it. But then char c runs up and tells char b 'oh, i saw a kissing someone/flirting/killing a cat/wtf ever, and char b is all 'omg, they are evol, we hate them forever, precioussss!!!' without *once* talking to char a.

Like - really? Normal humans don't act like that. *These characters* don't act like that! ARrgh.

I don't do subtitles unless i really have to, because even if i can hear/understand, i read the subtitles no matter what, and end up missing stuff, like bits of background business, expressions, whatever. Frustrating!

Omg right? It's like, they trust each other and talk to each other, why would they believe some second-hand information instantly instead of talking to their SO? Nevermind that most irl people wouldn't do this, they certainly wouldn't.

It's annoying.

Ah reading subs and keeping an eye on what's going on isn't an issue for me so I'm good with it, I do it in games too. Although sometimes the subs don't track with what was said and that's always fun.

It drives me nuts, it's like i *can't not read them*. Even when i don't need to at all. And if they're not times right/incorrect, it makes me batty.

I've just learned to click out very quickly when something I don't like starts cropping up, saves time and a headache ultimately.

I mean it's still there in the back of my mind going 'whyyyyy' but eventually it'll be forgotten.
